Town Hall Summary: Parking

On Saturday February 24, 2018, the Board of Rio Crossing Homeowners Association held a meeting to hear homeowner input on parking issues in the community.

The Board of Directors was represented by Julia, Matt, and Ray.  Homeowners were present from seven Lots.

Julia began the meeting with a discussion about current parking rules from the Association, City of Avondale, and the state of Arizona.  Afterward, she canvassed the non-Board attendees for their input and concerns.  Her notes included the following comments:

1.      Trailer parking in the garage allowing trailer to take the space of a vehicle

2.      Street parking available to homeowners/residents

3.      Cars driving too fast

4.      Cars taking too wide of turn

5.      Homeowner/renter business creating additional parking issues

6.      Limit cars to not park on both sides of the street

7.      Unsafe for children to cross the street

8.      Cars parking in gravel and on landscaping

9.      Abandoned vehicles

10.    Utility vehicles parking on street

11.    Parking too close to intersection corners and fire hydrants

12.    Difficult to see when pulling out of some cul-de-sacs

13.    Parked cars causing issues with trash pickup and bulk trash

14.    Loitering by parked cars

The Board will continue to discuss parking concerns and assess ways the association can assist in addressing those concerns.  Homeowners can address most parking issues directly by calling the Avondale Police Department’s Non-Emergency line at (623) 333-7001.
